Author Jim Holt delivered more than I asked for. As an astrophysics fan, I was hoping to better understand the space-time concept. I got that and lessons in logic, elements of philosophy, details of the lives of scientists, mathematics, large and small infinities, computers, death, “spooky actions,” God, the “Monty Hall Problem,” and much more. If you like science and pondering, this is a terrific book.
On the other hand, I didn’t like The Order of Time, by Cario Rovelli. Maybe because it was translated, many of the words and phrases simply didn’t convey information in an understandable way. Or it could be the material defining time was over my head.
One of these days I’m going to understand the nature of time.
